About Me

Like you, I've been affected by the ups and downs of life which contribute to my passion to equip and empower others to ultimately thrive in life.

I love giving birth to hope, meaning and self-efficacy without judgement but with a curious, compassionate and professional lens where your preferred outcomes for each appointment are paramount and if you're not sure what they might be - figuring it out together.

It is an honour as well as a joy to be given the opportunity to journey, even if for a short time, with others.

Qualifications

Funding options...

After completing my Counselling qualification in 2010 I began working in my own practice and have done so since, along with working in various other employed roles to both widen and develop my skill set.  I became a full member of the New Zealand Association of Counsellors in 2019 and have a current Annual Practicing Certificate (renewed annually).

To reassure you of my commitment to ongoing learning, and as part of my membership above (voluntary) I am required to undergo professional development to not only uphold the New Zealand Association of Counsellors' Code of Ethics: Microsoft Word - NZAC Code of Ethics 2002 Revised 2020.doc. but to continue working towards my best practice as a professional.  All those registered with NZAC or NZCCA are qualified Counsellors.

Additionally, I attend regular supervision (or mentorship) with a qualified and registered Counsellor to support this outcome.

Sometimes topics discussed in sessions may be discussed in these however, your confidentiality is always assured.

*Please note confidentiality is paramount however, there are exceptions to this; if concerns are present for yours or another's' safety, a referral, with your permission, will be made to a more appropriate service (or in addition to ours) to provide more immediate support for those concerned.

Please note that all attempts will be made, where at all possible, with full consent.

I understand the cost of counselling can sometimes be a barrier to getting the support we need why I'd like to remove financial barriers, where I can.

Very happy to chat about payment options, for example: setting up weekly payments to help spread out the cost, implementing a sliding scale to ascertain what is affordable for your situation as well as searching out funding options that might be available to you (please see below).

I do understand that this can very much be the reality of life so please don't hesitate to ask.

FYI: Fees are payable at the end of each session (I have an EFTPOS machine) alternatively, 7 days after an invoice is sent (unless prior arrangements have been made.)  Cancellations/reschedules incur no charge if all efforts have been made to give 24 hours' notice, only exceptions is in extenuating circumstances; emergencies, illness etc.  No notice/no shows incurs the full cost of session.
